HOW TO DO ANYTHING BETTER:
Mother’s Day

She’s going to brag about how wonderful and thoughtful you are no matter what… So let’s not make a liar out of her, OK? We called in some experts to give us a few tips and tricks for how to make the flowers, food and gifts all feel extra special this year.

1. MAKE YOUR OWN ONE-OF-A-KIND BOUQUET
“Arranging flowers is kind of like cooking, but instead of filling
a stomach, you’re filling a soul. My mom is an amazing
chef, and whenever I go home, she makes the meals, and I make the centerpieces.”
Cameron Hardesty, head of products at UrbanStems

2. MAKE UP FOR LAST YEAR’S FROZEN WAFFLE INCIDENT
“This dish is an homage to one of my favorite storybooks and a Friday-night tradition in my house growing up: pizza night. Treating Mom to this dish on Mother’s Day brings the story full circle for me, whether it’s for breakfast, lunch or dinner. (But I will say there’s only one thing better than breakfast in bed, and that’s breakfast PIZZA in bed!) This recipe is supereasy to pull off  in a pinch by substituting any kind of thick, crunchy toast for the focaccia.”
Nick Korbee, chef at Egg Shop in NYC’s Nolita

3. GIVE HER A BABY ELEPHANT… YEP, FOR REAL.
“For an elephant, family is everything. In a perfect world, mothers and daughters can remain in a herd together for life. A wonderful gift of love this Mother’s Day is to adopt an orphaned baby elephant in East Africa and give him or her a new family at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT).”
Angela Sheldrick, CEO of the DSWT
