How It’s Done: The Liberty Floral Shirt

Who better to show off our latest floral button-up from Liberty Art Fabrics, the British print house founded in 1875, than a florist? Here, Lisa Przystup, the founder of James’s Daughter Flowers, shows us three ways—and three places—she’s wearing it around her neighborhood of Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

FOR WORK

Flower arranging in her studio

“I’m always sneaking carnations into my arrangements, so I loved that Liberty snuck some into this pretty print. It’s also crazy comfortable—a major bonus when you’re lugging massive bundles of flowers around.”

“‘High-waist,’ ‘wide-leg’ and ‘crop’ are my three favorite words when it comes to pants,” says Lisa, seen here also wearing our vintage cotton tank top and Collection Sadie loafer flats in leopard calf hair.

“The best thing about a floral print? The flowers never die.”

FOR WEEKEND

Date night at Sauvage with her husband, Jonathon Linaberry, lead singer of The Bones of J.R. Jones

“Denim is my number one weakness—I’ve got a serious problem. And once I started wearing high-waist jeans, there was no going back. These fit like a dream and have that elusive perfect kick at the hem.”

FOR WHEREVER

Coffee break at Bakeri

“I’m a sucker for print mixing, and this delicate floral with crisp stripes feels just right. Plus, button-ups are great for pretending to be a grown-up professional.”

“Bakeri is just down the street from me, and it’s the perfect place to sit and plan my week—or just down a couple of lavender shortbread cookies,” says Lisa, seen here in the perfect shirt in Liberty Art Fabrics Isborella print, ruffled button-up shirt in stripe and frayed denim pencil skirt in white.

Special thanks to Sauvage and Bakeri.
